I've never touched steroids (although I've been asked by people if I could get them some and people often assume I'm on them). It's always the half assed lifters in the gym who talk the trash. They don't understand that maybe if they only worked a little harder they might actually grow too. I eat great, get decent sleeps, and work my ass off in the gym.

Anyways, as for the time thing, it's a lifestyle choice and you choose to make the time to eat properly and on time and to get your butt into the gym. I make a lot of bulk meals (I'll cook a bunch of fish, chicken and have enough to get me through a couple days) and if I'm working I'll prepare my next days meal the night before. It really doesn't take that much time. You just need to make a bit of an effort and have some dedication and goals that's all.

Hardworker hit the nail on the head, it's a lifestyle. As far as steroids go, well, they are an unfortunate part of many sports. If you want to be the best, you sometimes have to make sacrifices. It takes alot of knowledge and hard work (even with the use of supplements), to get to a competitive level in this game. It can put a huge strain on relationships and finances, not unlike the best car audio competitors out there I'm sure. It's a huge payoff though, when you're receiving your trophy and the crowd is cheering for you. Not to mention being backstage with 20 female figure competitors... that's kinda fun too.

I am by no means a body builder but I do lift
I am 5'7" and 170lbs but want to put on another 10lbs by the end of the year.
Right now I it the gym 3 to 4 times a week but have stopped gaining. Any suggestions from a diet or suppliment point of view on what to do to start gaining again?
The only suppliment I take right now is a protien shake once a day
Thanks for any thoughts

You should eat at least 300g protien a day, loads of complex carbs, and lots of efa's. If you can't continue to grow then, you should go see a doctor. You have to be consistent, you must eat like a horse every single day of the year. Measure your results on a month to mont basis, the magic does not happen overnight. I am lucky if I can add 10 pounds of muscle to my frame every year, and even that has been getting less and less as I get bigger and bigger. You don't even want to know how much food I stuff in my mouth, and that's when I'm dieting LOL!

Other then Omega 3 eggs what are good sources of EFA's? My diet definetly contributes to my lack of gains. There are days I eat five meals but other days I sit at a desk and drink coffee all day eat a sandwich and that is it till dinner.
What is your opinion on Creatine? I have looked at a few different brands. Some claim to have not have side effects. The local nutrition store recommended this to me http://www.kingofcreatine.com/ as it does not have side effects.

A great way to get efa's is when you eat a shake, add a tablespoon of flax oil. You won't even taste it. A great solution for you might be to eat lots of protien shakes at work. That's what I do, and I seem to have no problems with it. I'll eat about 4 shakes during the day, plus 2 meals, then when I'm home at night I eat a big supper, and usually eggs before bed with some whole wheat toast, usually about 8 or 9 egg whites and 2 whole eggs. This is in the off season of course, my competition diet is alot more strict.
