I've got like 5 of these in my yahoo email so far:

From: "Microsoft" <security@microsoft.com> | This is not spam | Add to Address Book
To: robmwatt@yahoo.com
Subject: Use this patch immediately !

Dear friend , use this Internet Explorer patch now!
There are dangerous virus in the Internet now!
More than 500.000 already infected!

Attachment: patch.exe

I'm not going to run that executable because it's really most likely a virus but just curious if anyone else has got a whole bunch of these emails...DAMN VIRUSES.

Yup, its a virus. My school's server got plagued with that exact e-mail about two weeks ago. Everytime I opened my mail box there was about 10-15 new messages. It lasted about a week and I think I deleted about 50 messages in total. Some people at my school opened the attachment and it seriously messed up the computer.

I don't know if the messages stopped coming because we stopped receiving them or if they stopped because the IT staff put a block on those messages.

Hopefully you won't be plagued as I was.
