I'm looking into getting my dad a pair of small birds for xmas so I have just started looking at cages. Superpet has a couple starter kits with cage and everything. The cages are 17x15x19 and claims that the cage is roomy enough for a pair of budgies.

Is that a decent sized cage? Most of the others on their site are smaller then that, plus, I wouldn't have to buy a bunch of stuff seperately as it comes with food and everything for around $70.

Should I go with something like that? Or, would anyone have a cage they wanna get rid of?

 

I'd check garage sales for sure.. bird cages are a dime a dozen.

Budgies are nasty little buggers, my grandma bread them, even taught one to speek... "nippers a pretty girl" to bad it was a boy.

 

I keep hearing the stories of the one they had before I was born, eventhough my mom almost killed it about a dozen times on accident. One of the more memorable stories included it being sucked up by a vaccum.
