For Sale threads and my pet peeve!

Just wondering if it's just me or not, but all over the internet in every for sale thread there is I always see "Paypal add 3%" I will never buy from someone who has this in their post for some reason....the 3% Paypal charges (as do credit card companies) is a charge to the sellers for the sellers convenience and yet mostly the buyers are the ones paying the fee. (it's still a buyers market)

Why would you just not add the 3% to the price of the item??...i have found about 6 items on this forum alone that i probably would have purchased but they had the dreaded "add 3%" thing....

I know I'm too new to rant, but i just did anyway...so there

am i wrong here? if absolutely noone in the world agrees with me i will admit i am wrong and change my ways (maybe)

I agree, there is a dude on here that I pm'd about a sub he has that he could have already had the cash in his hand. As far as the 3% goes, I agree, it should be past of the advertised price. I do not charge a extra 2% for accepting visa, why should I then pay it for the seller to accept paypal. It is a cost to the seller so as to increase their ability to make the sale.

4.6 No Surcharges. You agree that you will not impose a surcharge or any other fee for accepting PayPal as a payment method. You may charge a handling fee in connection with the sale of goods or services, as long as the handling fee does not operate as a surcharge and is not higher than the handling fee you charge for non-PayPal transactions.

Paypal user agreement...

Many times I quote this into people threads...

Yeah it sucks, I personally avoid Paypal as much as possible!! I hate the fact that most people want you to add 3% and then if you sell something you get dinged taking it out(the money that is) I must be cheap cause I do not justify it by anymeans!!

Some of the prices are so low in margin on the net that every few points count though. But I do agree, build it into the price.

What I hate is when people post things like this in the General Audio section when they have nothing to do with audio at all...

I don't think the 3% applies so long as you have a personal account - not a business one or premiere one. I just discovered that a few days ago.
