Question

It seems whenever i get about 15 bit torrent downloads on the go....all will be fine, i'll leave my pc for a while, come back and it'll be running slow as he...even after the torrents finish.

Task manager, will say system idle is using 85 % of the cpu power.....yet it's still running. Then when i finally restart....no idea which one, but as soon as a certain program or process shuts down it runs like magic....then the computer finish's it's restart.

Is there any easy way to figure out which process/program is the culpret? I tried just closing each process...but apparenlty closed the wrong one and my pc restarted on it's own heh.

im pretty sure those bit torrents take up a lot of cpu power. i have the same issue as you when im downloading bit torrents.

edit: and when they are finished but still open, that means that other people are downloading the file from you i believe

Are you using XP? Sounds like a memory leak, but I haven't heard of such using XP.

Man, all our user pics look funny under 100x100 when you don't size your pics properly.

lol this is true.

Torrents - XP ... depending on what process you add it will restart on you because some of those processes are needed to run your system. And when you end it and it needs it it'll restart. If your ever unsure of a process that is running google it and it'll tell you either the importance of it or what it does generally.

Perhaps it could be the uploads or it could solely be to many at once, cause after time they tend to bogg down. How much ram do you have in your computer?

My pc slows down from torrents too. I used to run the SETI (Search for E.T. Life) on my pc as well and it would absolutely slaughter it. Never run them together.
