well I'm back from a month off.
first week off we put a 3" procomp lift in my dad's "new" used 85 reg cab/long box 4x4 turbo diesel toyota, of course I didn't think to take any pics, we were too busy fighting with all the rusted on stuff ....looks good though. Now he just needs to save some cash for the 4.88 gear swap and we can add 31-33" tires
then I headed down to Nipawin Sask for some mud Bog action(cue the dueling banjos)..... I won 1st place in stock class. Suprised the hell out of me and pretty much everyone there. I expected to go a bout 10 feet , sink like a stone and be stuck, but the mud was pretty soupy so I did just sink to the solid bottom but then I plowed on through the soup, everyone kept going "that's a diesel???".........here's some mud pics

after that I headed on down to regina for a week to get my leaky head gasket fixed (used like a gollon and a half doing the mud runs), Randy at Champion diesel did the R&R and Bruce at ABS competition shaved it (it was warped) and O-ringed it ...... he cleaned the ports up a bit too but no real porting was done. both places did an awsome job, truck run's like new and I no longer got to dump in a gallon of antifreeze after a high boost run, I must have been losing boost from the head though cause now I hit 40 pounds of boost (previously I hit 36) .... way too much for a stock hx35 (they're good for about 35 lbs) so I ordered an adjustable wastegate elbow from Piers diesel in Abbotsford so I don't blow my turbo up........
after my week in Regina I headed home Installed a duel exit 4" exhaust with 5" tips from MBRP
then we pulled the intake and intercooler off my mom's TDI jetta cause they were all plugged up from the EGR soot mixing with the Crank case vent fumes and depositing in there( common problem on Tdi's according to tdiclub.com)......... it was plugged soo bad I'm suprised it ran (it did run pretty poorly, no power and smoked) .......we then peformed a Crank case vent bypass and blocked off the EGR ..... emissions be damned ........ she runs awsome again
did some riding on my quad, here's a couple pics of the wood my dad hauls on this thing he's been getting at least 2 loads every day from back in the swamp all summer .....500 km of this so far and no troubles ...good machine
Oh and I bought some cool CVD axles for my traxxas E-maxx RC truck and played with it a lot with my about to be 6yr old nephew (he says he wants one for his birthday ).....
exciting holiday eh ....it was nice to get out to civilization, never missed work at all and after 6 days back at work I want more time off already......... too bad I'm out of holidays

I got stuck on my 3rd run (did 4)
but the three times I made it were the 3 fastest times in that class I did 19 seconds, 15 seconds, DNF, and 16 seconds
next closest guy in stock class was 22 seconds and they guy who won "stock modified" (36-39" tires) did 13 seconds If I had some decent 36" mudders instead of my 32" generic M/T's I think I could have gave him a run for his money
I got a neat little video I made up it's about 5 mb how wouls I go about putting it up on the net ??

That's awesome congrats on the fastest times, do you have a web page of some sort with your isp? If you do you should be able to upload it to there
Click Scroll down a bit to the section that says video hosting. Hope that helps.

I made 2 runs in each lane .but yes lane choice and order did make a difference
on day one I was last to go in both lanes
day 2 we ran reverse order .....that's why I got stuck on run 3 I was the 1st guy of the day to go through and they had dug it back up with the backhoe so there were no ruts ......
what they should have done was run the super mod guys 1st since they always make it through and made some ruts
I made my fastest run in the "hard" lane though (the on I got stuck in on day 2)
