Yep, they've been running the Bait Car program here for a while and now just recently let the public see the videos. My wife and I stayed up for an hour last night to watch them all. It was cool
What's not cool though is they finally figured out that they need to shut the car's engine down when safe to do so. Before, they didn't do that and I guess would just hope to get the thieves to pull over. In most cases, a high speed chase would ensue. Not smart.

They did some tv shows about this bait car program last year i think it was. There are people that oppose the baitcar program, saying it's like leaving a pile of money on the ground unguarded. Even if someone is not likely to steal the car, because it's in an abandoned location with the doors unlocked and the keys in plain site, they take it. Maybe they just got fired or divorced and are in the wrong frame of mind and wouldnt take the car if it wasnt setup to be taken. Im sure they only show you the videos of the stereotypical punks though. Not that i support thieves, but isnt this whole thing a textbook definition of entrapment?

Textbook definition of entrapment?
You obviously don't know what entrapment means then.
Entrapment is where a person in authoirty like a cop convinces you to do something you wouldn't otherwise do.
IE here's 10 grand if you kill this person.

Having a bad day does not give you the right to steal a car. If you are just a normal law abiding citizen, then why would you be scoping out cars, noticing that they are unlocked with the keys in it?
