The help file is fairly well written and easy to comprehend. I'd start there if you haven't already.

I have owned it for about 5 years, but I don't think I have ever built a box from its recommendations. Do you find that it is a fairly accurate program to model boxes from?

I find a lot of the recommendation is a bit out of whack! Its always smaller then what normally recommended from manufactures.

I find its recommended enclosures are not well-suited for car audio. Also, the port area recommendation is flawed, IMO. And, of course, it cannot accurately calculate the displacement of slot ports, so you must manually do it.

However, I'd still say it's a good, capable program. I use it quite often and find it valuable. Just remember that it can't tell you what the best enclosure is for a given application; you have to use your brain for that.

It assumes all the walls that make up the port are completely independent from the enclosure's walls. Most slot ported enclosures use 3 of the enclosure's walls (top, bottom, and side, generally).

So, let's say you have a 13.5" x 2" slot port that is 12" long (11.25" internally). It uses the top, bottom, and right side of the enclosure for 3 of its walls.

Displacement = 13.5*(2+0.75)*11.25 = 417.656 cubic inches

BB6P will assume that the port doesn't use any of the enclosure's walls, so it has 4 independent walls.

Displacement = (13.5+2*0.75)*(2+2*0.75)+11.25 = 590.625 cubic inches
