Best Kind Of Wood?
Ok so I'm to cheap to go out and buy a tv stand lol I was planning on building one to bring with me to residence in 9 days, whats the best kind of wood to use that'll hold a 20-27" tv? I'm gonna have like 1 or two shelves under the main top part as well to hold the ps2 & xbox. Any input? Or anyone knows of some good plans for tv stands as well? can't be to big as its goin in a small room
Or if u know where i can get a tv stand for $20 that would work too. Cuz I cant go out n spend like $50 on one of those fancy tv stands that I'd love. Preferably black.

can't afford to spend more than $20 on one thats already built lol
I believe that shelving and stuff is usually made out of presswood that has melamine finishing on it. I can't see why MDF or plywood couldn't be used provided you brace it enough. You could put support blocks in the corners of the shelves etc so that it would support the weight of the world (the TV). What type of wood do you have available? And what do you plan on putting on it to make it look pretty?
