Border Crossing
Chris this is what i did on my way to IASCA. knowing my fobby luck i even went out and got a real passport. i stopped at the canadian border and went in to tell them i want to declare stuff. The guy in there asked me if i had the declaration paper work and such done, i was like HUH? then the dude said ok forget that, he walked over to my car, wrote down all my equipment brands/serial numbers on a small peice of paper type form that fit into his pocket without folding then he signed and said Here you go, jus show them this when u cross back.......after that i begun to wonder what 'declaration paper work' he was reffering to just 10 mins ago.
on the side note, the funniest part is that i parked behind the Customs building but there was no entrance at the back so i walked accross the border and back without anyone even bothering me, only when i entered the RESTRICTED AREA guards started drawing guns and run towards me.....when i told them im just lookin for the entrance they were like How the F*uck did u get here. they were really surprized when we told them that we just walked out and back into Canada on foot.

Hate to see them drill holes in someone's wall or box just to 'check' for drugs or something, though.

Last nov, going to KC at the Pembina, ND crossing the very nice US customs guy asked me to pull off my trim panels, which is no problem cuz they'll just break them. He didn't say anything about the box, I offered to pull a sub out. He was more concered with the area that is hidden between the subs and the rear seat. He went inside the car and tride to see/feel through the hole where my cap is mounted. He asked David what it was, and didn't understand at all. lol
You get less hassled for sure when they are really busy. I always have a entire book for my car anyways that shows construction of the system and I take the receipts when I go south, just incase.
