Hmm so i pulled into speedy autoglass to have the chip in my winshield fixed. parked on like a hill of their driveway. I leaned back to lift my *** up to get my wallet out, and my seat popped. The front left lifts up.

So i hopped out and had a look...there's a bolt that bolts the seat frame to the rails that allow it to slide back n forth. The bolt tore thru what i believe was metal on the bottom of the seat frame.

So, after i finish mcdicks here i'm gonna have a closer look, but i believe my options are gonna be:

- get a larger washer and hope that it somehow holds.

- have someone weld the seat frame back together...no idea who would do that or what something like that would be worth.

- see if i can ziptie the seat to the rail as i virtually never move it.

- check the junk yards for a new seat.

Hmm can anyone give some support on these various options to how they might work or how silly they are to their prices????

I had a similar thing happen a number of years back in my parents van...

I took it too my high school welding shop and in 5 mins it was good as new....no charge!!

If its a small weld that needs to be done, chances are if you take the seat out and take it to a school, they'll do it for next to or for nothing...

Hmmm well being that it was about 5:00 when writing that i was kinda outta ideas...i thought i could swap my seats around pass and driver, but they're different enough i couldn't (sucks cause the passenger was such a pain to get out).

Anywho, went down to Canadian Tire and picked up some huge *** washer. Put it in...and it seems to do the trick until after the work week when hopefully i'll have a chance to go down and find someone that can weld.

I'd love to learn how to weld, but sadly i don't have the tools or knowledge or time or anyone to help. Maybe one day though, when i'm rich and can buy a ton of tools whether i know how to use them or have a need for them or not heh.

call up any "custom exhaust" shop near you - trust me some one will do it for a few bucks or even free..

you can either have it all unbolted and taken out already for them to weld (most likely the best/cheapest way) or have them do all the work - and if they do it for free - toss him some thing (24 of canadian always goes well)

this should work,... i work in an exhaust shop and you`d be surprised what kinda crap we weld up on a weekly basis

yeah...i was thinkin of going to the people that did my exhaust...i'd love to have it out and ready for them..on trouble is i need it to drive lol.

Thats the exact reason i tried to swap it and the passenger seat. Maybe i'll steal someone elses vehicle next week or so.
