I'm looking at picking up a new laptop in the next couple weeks and I need some help on finding a good deal.

I've found this one from Dell which seems good to me, but I was wondering if anybody knows where I could get something better for the money.

Also found this one at NCIX.com, but dont know anything about the brand? Is it a good brand at all?

Looking for the best possible laptop for $1500

Actually scrap that whole post, just let me know what you think would be the best possible laptop for $1500 CDN. Needs to have Word and Excel, no specific for the other options. It will be used for listening to music, watching movies etc., not gaming of any sort.

And it wont be used for frequently watching movies, just every once in a while.

k well first DON'T!! get a Dell if you ever want to upgrade.... it's gotta be done by them, it's soooooo retarded! atic.ca or ncix.com are the two best ways to look at laptops on the net that will have a great price.... or an apple laptop.... very light and super reliable.... apple.ca

How much upgrading do you want to do on a laptop, and why do you have to send it back to dell?

The RAM you can always buy from a 3rd party vendor. Try Shikatronics or something.
As for the HD... I'm sure there's a way around it.

Besides, the average person doesn't upgrade their laptops so it shouldn't be a detering factor.

No I dont plan on upgrading anything in it. I'm ordering a Dell Inspiron 6000 tomorow. Ill be about $1700 after taxes, free shipping. I think I did pretty good for the cash.

80 Gig HD
512 MB ram
15.4 inch screen
3 years onsite service

And a bunch of other stuff. Not bad I dont think.
