Mechanics are pretty well paid, I would have pursued that. The oil field money might look nice atm but what about in 10 or 15 years, do you want to be freezing your *** off doing a pretty dangerous job?

yuli honestly man i tried the post secondary thing. did my first year mehcanics course. after failing my final twice i said **** it. i'm not sticking around at a job that i cna't pass a multiple question exam.
i did horrible with books in highschool. i did horrible with books in college. its no diffrent. i have a hard time with book and paper work. i'm a labour kinda guy. my shop mark was bloody briliant. low to mid 90's. i know my , but when yeah get me doing book work i either A fall asleep. B start to draw pictures C text msg people.
i never said i was gonan stay on the rigs for long. I'm actually asking my boss on monday if he would be willing to let me practice on one of the rigs so i can get my class 1. I'm basiclly doing this to get my self out of hte hole i'm in. i owe over 35G's and i'm only 18. i did some i'm not proud of and now i'm paying for it.
i don't mind working out in the cold. i was up at 6 this mornin all dressed up and ready to work. i had to do some work to my truck before i left for work.

holy motherfawker. you live at home, your 18. worked full time and your in the hole for 35thou? jesus christ man. what in the fawk have you been doing?
go get some schooling done and get a career. ya know somthing that will open doors for you and be able to pay for your apperently expensive lifestyle.

Heres the funny thing. A fully licensed Auto tech can make upwards of $80-90k a year and even more if your in the right shop. This is why I laugh at all of this Post Secondary load of BS. If you are willing to put the time and effort into what you have chosen as a career then you can make top dollar. I went to University and graduated, but all it left me with was alot of debt and a flooded job market to enter. So I entered a totally different field and make more money than what I would have. This world needs laborers without them things wouldn't be the same. As for 20-30 years from now when your older you won't still be busting *** with the young guys, hopefully you will have used you noodle and found a way to move up. Besides theres nothing like putting in a hard days honest work than sitting behind a desk somewhere. But hey thats my $0.02
