wow...

lets say working 8-9 hours a day. 12hr as a 1st year is mother ****ing BS!!!

i do live a rather expensive life style. i'm also on the road allot of the time. i travel all over central alberta. more for ***** and giggles, sometimes for buisness and other times jsut to roll with my buddy in his SS S/C.

Yeah that 35 is mostly my car. 26G's to be exact. then you add the bills and past due . student line of credit, CC, Bill's and part bills. it add's up.

it also does not help with my current job being the way it is. i'm a 1st year that only does oil changes... well that makes sence. i have done mroe to my truck then i have in that ****ing shop. My boss has a fit if i stop for one second to grab a drink of water. He gives me 20mins to do an oil change. yes i know thats plenty of time for a 2 man team. i work alone. i run out find the vehicle. then drive it into my shop then try and line it up o nthe severlly out of date hoist... i feel un-safe with the hoists i am forced to work with.

the two hoists i am forced to use are from before my time... thier as old as the shop it self. they sink, seep, and jump with out warning. I left webb's for that as well as an employee thier. i used to be up near the 90's for productivity and efficiancy./ since he started here i have dropped in both. i missed my quarterly bonus becasue of him. he is ALWAYS harassing me. its bs. at the X-mas party my GF was ready to rip into him. He's one of those guys who does not listen to what you say.

i have authority over him... yet becasue he's older and has a little more exp then me. so he thinks he has authority over me. i have worked in that shop since i was 17. so dma nclsoe to a year and a half now. age means nothing. exp helps, but i have still been thier longer and established my self.

sorry guys but what i have done is what i have done. its gonna be a long winter for me. its gonna be a long time tell i can say i know what my feet feel like, but some people make mistakes and some have to pay for them. i'm paying for them. in mroe then one way. i have o pay for it by asking my gf to buy grocery's with her hard earned money. i have to ask my gf to spot me money just so i can have snack food at work. Do you think i feel good asking her for money. do you think i like the fact that she has to support her self me my self. no. i feel lower then having to do this. i have dignity and its gone now. i had a sence of secureness, but it went down the drain. i worrie about making enough to pay bills. i don't take sick days, i don't take time to make sure my body is well, i wake up before any one else. i make sure my family is awake in time for thier jobs, school, or outings. i live a messed up life. i live with an alcholic mother. i live with the scare of cancer coming back to haunt my family. i live with not nothing if my grandfather will be around the next day or not.

most know what i'm going through. most have it worse then I. but most won't know. most won't walk in my shoe's. all i can say is i feel sorry for the people who have the money and . but don't look to the future.

sorry guys, but i needed to vent.

Wow... this guy is pouring out his heart cause he has a lot of stuff going on, and you must continue to harass him--dude, no offence, but ease up a bit eh?

So sorry Chunk for the stuff you are going through. Im glad you are choosing to take care of your debt before it gets to the point of bankruptcy (cause being bankrupt follows you for years and years).

Tyler, I very much hope you've seen what kind of pain you feel from being so far into debt. Taking money from your g/f just to buy snacks or groceries when you've got a new car that you've bought toys for, and two hoopties in your front yard somewhere sucking up cash is just wrong. Do something about it, and do it now if you want her to respect you. When I was in my early 20's I had new cars as well (bought a brand new 97 Dodge Avenger ES, then a 99 Dakota R/T and then a 2000 Dakota R/T). I sure wasn't in the debt situation you are since I STAYED AWAY from credit cards and easy credit crap, but I wasn't making enough to feed gas into my vehicle, insure them, get toys for them plus entertain my then-girlfriend/now-wife properly. You need to take a hard look at your priorities. If you can keep the new car, great. But get rid of those other money-sucker vehicles and free-up some cash flow. Money budgeting is as simple as a monthly take on money in vs. money out. It's been what, a year since you've been out of high school? And you're this deep into debt? I've seen many people make the same mistakes and it really can affect where they are 10 years later. Get a handle on it now.

Well that's your opinion, I know mechanics that have make 100k+ for the last 10 years and love their jobs. To excel in any field you need a good attitude and be willing to earn the extra money. And, there are miserable people in every field who think they are hard done by.

Chunk, I totally agree with sux... you NEED to adjust your lifestyle because it's a relatively easy change now. If you try and do it in 10 years you're going to be in such a hole it won't happen.

Give up on the toys, get rid of the hoopties, get your highest interest credit under control ASAP, credit cards should never be used as loans except in an emergency. Then knock off your other debt. Really, if you're working and living at home there's no reason you can't afford your car payments. So, you only maybe have 9 grand in debt that you need to get rid of ASAP. There's lots of options, consolidation loans, even just talking to the holders of the debt. If you tell them you will pay it but need some help often they will give you a break somehow. Try and change to a low interest credit card, etc...

Once you're not blowing huge amounts of money on debt servicing you'll be surprised at how you can afford the toys and fun with cash instead of credit.

Iam sure they exist somewhere but I don't know any... and of the mechanics I do know Iam sure they gross more like 35K-50K.... I think looking at the average pay scale for a profession gives a better perspective since Iam sure there are also doctors lawyers and engineers who gross 300K+ every year..

Anyway chunk my boy just curb the spending and you'll be fine... I don't know what you make but Ive worked some bitch *** jobs for $8-9/hr in my day putting up with all kinds of BS...... and my idea of a snack at work was $.25 Mr noodles with a sandwhich for lunch not throwing $4 into a vending machine with a $8 lunch off the meal truck....

I think your biggest mistake was buying a new low end car when you would have been much better off spending less on something a few years old... I see fairly fresh 40K cars going for 5K private sale that are only 5-6 years old that may last another 5-6 years without needing any significant work.... for a young guy who should be saving not spending thats a pretty good way to go...

other then that don't feel bad hitting up your GF for 5bucks here and there since you claim to spoil her any other time... which you should stop doing.... spoil her on her bday, your anniversary, and maybe xmas and valentines day.... but if you are spending $20 4 times a week on fast food then another $200 every weekend on dinner movies and shopping then you may find one day you have spent thousands upon thousands on someone with nothing to show for it but a broken heart.... hmmm I think either MNR2 or someone else (I better not say who) says "there is no equity in women"

Ask me about scraping together every dime I had to buy an engagment ring working for 9.5/hr in a metal finishing plant while paying rent groceries insurance and gas only to have it thrown back in my face when she was in a bad mood till the day she breaks up with me and I find out she has been f**king someone else... yea that happens to chumps like us everyday and I'll be lucky to get %20 out of that ring now.. (I would have been much better off buying a pair of 3kW amplifiers and maybe new subs)

Then the real kicker is if youve got a child together cause 1.5years later its still torture everyday you think about it..... and to boot you are now paying child support to a welfare cheat who spends your hard earned money at the bar and not necassarilly on your kid..... and still tries to scam you out of carstereo equipment for her current BFs... live and learn my friend...
