So after all my trying to get you all to come help,I'm actually glad you didnt!

The whole thing was a total clusterf**k!!No organization to speak of,people in charge getting mad because people were not doing things the way the thought it should be done,pallets being dropped anywhere there was spot.Anyone ever had to play traffic cop to three pallet jacks? Its ridiculous!!I went from supervising the assembly of shelf units on the display floor to being in charge of sorting pallets,organizing stock so that it was where
it could be easily accessed by the crews working in that area...Just stupid!!

I spent the last week finishing setting up shelving including a day and a half on this one
particular unit made up of this peice and that peice and so forth.I had nothing but trouble
getting it to stay together..I wound up shimming up the uprights as I thought it was an
uneven floor.I brought this to the attention of more than one superior with "Oh once we get some weight on it,it will be fine". Well...the result of that was the end of the shelf unit collapsing and nearly injuring 4 people...not once...but twice!After the first collapse,they redid everything and used mechanics wire to tie everything down but to only wind up
with the same result.They wound up totally tearing it down to try to track the problem down
and they found it...It was brought to my attention by one of the other store managers that
the uprights I was using were directional.If you flip them over the slotts dont quite line up right and this is what happens...A small fact that even the owner of the company didnt know!


Well after 14 hrs of rack/shelving building(4 1/2 units to be exact),tearing down and rebuilding floor display shelves,
setting about 300 boards in place on the shelving unit..etc etc etc..My hands are raw even with wearing gloves,every joint in my body hurts and I'm ready to quit my job because I never want to see those shelves again..I'm going to bed soon and damn it...I'm sleepin' in!!

Anyway....enough of my ranting...thought you might like to hear the out come...

Oh yeah....When I left at 11 pm,There was still another amount of stock,etc equal to what had
already been moved still sitting out in front of the old store....what a nightmare!!Oh well...I wish the best of luck to those still toughing it out!!

 

So I get a phone call at 11 am today from my store manager.The call went as follows:
Me:Hello
Him:Aaron?
Yeah!?
Hows it goin'?
I hurt like hell!!
Him:You workin' at the NW store today?(I normally work at this other store sunday's for extra hours,but took this one off because I knew I would be in bad shape)
Me:No..I booked it off with Brent(NW manager)
Him:Oooh...So how bout comin' to help us out?
Me:I'm not workin' for noone today!!
Him:Noone,eh?Well,Darryl(The owner of Auto Value who is also helping with the move)told me to call all staff that arent workin' elsewhere and tell 'em to get there asses in here asap!!I was here til 5:30 this morning and we arent even close to being ready!

So I wound up going in for about 12:30 or so til 7:15pm when they shut it down.....STILL NOT READY FOR BUSSINESS!!!! [img]graemlins/banghead.gif[/img]

I tell ya...This is the biggest cluster/monkeyf**k I have ever seen in my life!! [img]graemlins/jack.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]

I'm getting caller ID on my phone next weekend and not answering the phone if they call me again!!

I go back to work on Tuesday and I have a feeling they will have made no headway what so ever by then....but miracles do happen I guess..

 

Caller ID works miracles [img]tongue.gif[/img] so does answering machines, let the machine get it, if u know them then pick it up n shut the machine off lol

 

Yep I applied and got the job within a week, I work weekend sanitation (2 12 hour shifts per week, saturday and sunday). I have a good working background and also got lucky by getting to be good friends with the Sanitation Department manager. Worked out well for me, one of the best place in town to work for for sure, treat their employees very well...

My car is a gold Saturn SL1 4 door sedan with gold alloy wheels, and no stereo right now . The Saturn you speak of is Didier Stout's car, he's from Raymond, he has a wall with 4 15" Type-Rs that Bob Beaton (Stay Tuned Installations (is a very good friend of mine)) did last year. It's silver as well...Shoot me a PM some time we should meet up.
