Question Can i wash an engine bay with a pressure washer???

So as some of you heard, i fell into a mud puddle with my jeep. Washed off the outside and tried to get underneath as good as i could...came out pretty clean. Yesterday cleaning out hte inside, i found some left over washer fluid, went to put it in to see that my engine bay is caked in mud, oops. Manifold is covered, battery has a solid covering...no idea how the mud even got that high....

My question is...can i go to a wand wash place...and pop the hood and get in there with a pressure washer...or whats the best idea for cleaning?

(apparenlty thats where that intermittent squeal, probably a layer of mud on the various belts).

Keep it away from your master brake cylinder and also your distro. And use low pressure

Good for you. I know people who grind metal without any eye protection and have been doing so for many years and have never had a problem.

Yeah low pressure is good. I do short blasts of high pressure around dirty areas that are not things like alternators, distributors or electronic brain boxes.

Make sure you carry some WD40 in case your distributor cap gets water inside it. Put a plastic bag over the cap if possible.

Other than that, you should be fine.

talk about goin for a swim?

That was before the water was coming in the window.5 liters of water in my newly rebuilt motor, 1 ruined carpet, cellphone, door speaker, pair of boxer shorts etc etc

ummm make sure when you wash the engine that it is cold or there is a chance of cracking the engine block.
