Looking to install one in my camper van for emergencies and if I'm really, really bored!

It seems new ones go from about 100-300. I'm willing to pay top dollar just don't know if it's worth it.

Can someone recommend a brand/model?

Cobra or I think Viper makes decent ones for the price.

Check Radioshack. They have a selection of CB Radios.

 

get a vhf instead of a cb...you will pay about 3x the price, but get about 10x the range.

 

fully modded Ranger RCI-2950 or 2970

 

The rangers are 10m band units. Don't I need a license for those? Is 10m as popular as CB?

Uniden Makes a good radio head to your local truck stop and get it peeked and tuned and talk back installed. You should also Pick up a static Micraphone and an external Speaker. And no Im not a Trucker [img]smile.gif[/img]

 

there is an easy mod to get them to work on 11m
