Cell Phones
I very much dislike telus's bill for family plans. I like the bill for a single phone, but they make it rather hard under a family plan to split the bill evenly for the items you use. Out playing hockey today, on the outskirts of edmonton in the River Cree Casino/Hotel (edmonton guys will know it), the only phone that got reception there was a Rogers phone. Telus and Bell couldn't do anything, unless they had analog which most phones now a days don't seem to have. So +1 for Rogers on that point.
I like the GSM styles phones of Fido/Rogers......But I am having serious reception issues with the Carrier that claims "Fewest dropt calls in Canada".
When Rogers bought out Fido.......I REALLY thought things would be better but now I am told that I need to pay ten dollars more to access the Roger's network.........after asking why would I stay on for ten bucks I go jump to Telus/Bell, get the extended coverage and not pay more they saw it fit to include the "Extended Network" free of charge.
What pisses me off with any cell is that you are a customer for years and years and yet that mean nothing unless you are ready to leave then they "find" all the deal.....................why not just reward long time customers first and avoid all the screwing around.
I am sooooooooooooo glad that now you can take your number with you, I would inform everyone that when your contact ends really drag it out before you sign anything from anyone. Oh yeah......NO, you do NOT need to resign. I am now about six months without a contract and beleive me, they are really trying to keep my biz

I am with Telus and currently have a plan that is 14 years old that I am not going to give up. Free long distance after 6 pm and on weekends + unlimited calls after 6 pm and weekends. That is the only time I use my phone, $40.00 a month and I am good to go. I am never going to give up this package and they can't take it from me.

I am with you there -- I have been off contract for a year and a half... I am waiting for the "unlimited" local to come out. I am on a telus to telus $20 + $5 for free evenings and weekends...
i'm with rogers been with them for over 5 years through work (corp. plan)...i recently renewed my contract after being without one for over 2yrs......
i don't know about rogers being the company with the least drops calls because i drop calls all the time...but it's never the rogers system..it's my phone..sure i'll just fork over $200 to buy a new phone...
i was thinking about going with telus they have a decent corp. plan 150min, evening/weekends after 6, voicemail etc $20 but the reception isn't too good in my area....
i'll just wait till some of the US companies enter the market..

Claudio, nope to the Telus vendor. I don't sell phones at all in my store. Back in the day though, it was a bad day if we did not sell 15 flip phones a day (and that was before they came out for the free promo). 5 of us on the floor averaged that many each per day....ol Andre did quite well with all those phones being sold. I have been a cell user since....crap....1989 now I think it was.
