I have a choice between two flip cell phones and am having a hard time choosing. The choices are between a Nokia and a Samsung. There are no model numbers on them but the Samsung says DUAL on the front of the flip part. They are both very basic phones. My question is, between the two makes, which would be the better bet in terms of reliability, signal strength, battery life etc.. Would I be any further ahead with one make over the other. They are both the same price. Any suggestions would help me out. Thanks for any votes or tips.

In my experience, as a general rule, I would not take any make of phone over Nokia.

my GF had a samsung and except for the fact that voice dail sucked it was a great Phone, blue flip phone do not know if that is the one you are looking at the battery died after 2 years.

The prices are free, my brother's g/f's family had a couple extras and they took pity on me. They are a couple years old as they are about the size of an average computer mouse, but they still appear to be in good condition. The Nokia is all black with no exposed buttons untill you open it. The Sammy is silver with an exposed view screen. I think I might just take both and keep a spare if they are willing to let me have them both.

R_C, check in the battery compartment to see the model numbers. Both are great phones, its hard to tell without knowing the actual model.

I have owned Nokia for years.. I find them to be good phones..have only had to bring my phone in once to repair the backplate as I had dropped it for the 5000th time and it finally cracked enough to not hold the battery. It would appear the Nokia you have is the 282.. http://www.nokia.ca/english/products/282.asp

I cannot make any comments on the Samsung.. I have never owned one. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips guys, and yeah, it is a 282. I am going to go with the Samsung because the Nokia has a dead battery and they can't find the charger. Plus it has been chilling in a drawer for a while so it might have some issues. Anyways, thanks a bunch.

oh that nokia is the clam design, thats a very old model and one of the most garbage phones they ever made. Id go with the samsung over that any day.
