Question clear corner/signal laws

I've been searching online for any detailed information regarding clear/white turn signal laws in Ontario.. I have seen a few cars that have these bulbs factory installed. I have found some info stating that any two ( white or amber) lights can be projected from the front of a vehicle, and or red and amber projected from the rear of the vehicle. Just want to clarify these laws , any help appreciated. ~Nelson

The colors of the bulbs and or lenses indicate the direction the vehicle is pointing when viewed from the side. A turn signal on the front of a car must emit a amber light, be it a clear bulb and amber lens or a amber bulb and clear lens. A headlight is to emit a white light only (and HID is included in this category). There are no red lights / lenses allowed on the front or sides of a vehicle. Taillights are to emit a red or amber light, stop lights red only, backuplights white only, turn signals may emit amber or red. The MVA will vary slightly from province to province but the jist of it is the same.

Fog and driving lights are a entirely different topic as is the proper mounting height of lights.

Here's a great site for reference (I use it at work all the time actually).

http://www.yorkregionsavealife.ca/erase/side.htm

At the top of the page you can select the angles of the car to view and cursoring on each circle will show you what is legit and what is not and the Highway Traffic Act section.

Legal/illegal it sometimes really depends on where u are and what cops you're facing. Some will pull you over, some won't (Kinda stupid I wish they'd pick a law and everyone follow it instead of the "I don't feel like it" kind, anyways) follow it at all.

I have clear corners on my car, I've had them for 2 years I've never once been pulled over for them. I was using the stock bulb that came with the car that was in there before I switched corners, it was whitish yellow but more white than orange thats for sure lol. Then I changed to a 12 led bulb combo that was literally white-blue (more white than blue), I had a cop facing me when they were on and everything didn't get stopped at all. However I didn't leave these bulbs in because a) didn't feel like taking the chance. And b) They required a whole other type of flasher to work properly, the rapid blinking just drove me nuts. So the next day I swapped them out for orange, IMO they look much better ...

In the end I also got sick of trying to find a bulb that would match so that it didn't look like I had 3 different colour sets of lights on the front lol.

So from my experience white is illegal but it'll depend on where you are to get pulled for it. Some cops are more than others.

And some just wish you'd stop trying to push your luck and just stay within the rules. If you're old enough to know better you're old enough to take the punishment and not bitch about it.
You know the law as I posted the link to all the common mods and their legalities.

Red face

Thanks for the reference site , very useful information. I did have some 24 led (blue/white) signals in my factory (clear corner) lenses, and didnt seem to attract too much attention. But as said by Blinddemonz, the fast flashrate was driving me insane. Guessing this is caused by lower amperage draw on the system faking it into thinking there is a shot bulb in the circuit (thus attracting more attention) Which I would prefer not to have. We'll see what happens . Thanks for the info ~ Nelson

The led's require a different flasher. IMO it was too much crap for just one little mod. And yes the rapid flash drove me insane hahaha. Besides I didn't really like the colour out put. I prefer the orange now ...
