Cobalt Accident Last Night

“The driver lost control and he actually swerved under the wheels of the big rig,” explains O.P.P. Sgt. The truck driver escaped, but unfortunately the car's completely crushed and we have two victims that died in the crash.”
This says nothing about any car cutting off anything. He drove under the wheels of the truck.

The initial thoughts as to what occurred were wrong.
It has been updated and printed in the media that the car was indeed travelling at 157km/h at the time of the crash (vehicle's "black box" told this). The driver made a sudden lane change attempt without noticing that there was a transport there and overcorrected, losing control of his car, and was then hit by the transport.
My initial response stands.

As for the accident. It's a shame. Carelessness claims yet another life. And all that poor paper....

Despite what people like to believe, vehicles are not equipt with "black boxs'"
The ECM can store some information for a certain length of time, but it's more for safety reasons, airbag deployment and so forth, that also being said, if a car burns to the degree that it sounds like this one did, the ECM would be completely toast, there's no way it would have survived. They need the vehicle to be somewhat functioning to retrieve and info from the ECM.

I know a lot of you don't have any sympathy because of the speed he was going, but I still feel bad. Just because someone is speeding doesn't mean they should die.
Anyways, my sympathies go out to their family and friends.

Craig this forum is full of "know it all" idiots, did u really expect someone to to express any sympathies. Ofcourse if you speed you deserve to die?? RIGHT?? some people on this forum just need a well deserved baseball bat beating to knock some sense of reality into them.
