Copying DVD onto HD
I would like to copy my OC DVD's onto my laptop, but i dont know how to do this. I think i saw something about having to get a program that copies episodes? Can somebody help me out...it's a PITA to carry around boxes of DVD's, and its good for roadtrips. Thanks guys.
Why would you shrink it if it's not going to be burned to a DVD ?
Download Slysoft AnyDVD and install
Reboot
Open AnyDVD, select Settings, Uncheck Prohibited User Operations, Click OK
Insert DVD
Go to My Computer, Right-Click on DVD, Select Explore
Right-click on VIDEO_TS folder, select Copy, paste somewhere on your hard drive
Right-click on folder, select Rename, type in name of movie (to prevent confusion)
Open PowerDVD, hit Ctrl+O, select Open DVD File on Hard Disk Drive, find the VIDEO_TS folder you copied to HDD, select VIDEO_TS.ifo
Watch movie

I was under the impression that you were only using them for a road trip, thus making hard drive space of little importance so long as you could fit the discs on there ...
Yes, you can convert the video at least to a different format ... You won't have any of the menus, subtitles, etc., though ... or just use DVD Shrink or a similar program to compress the size of the DVD while retaining the DVD format ... You will lose quality, though ...
