I just got another of those crazy 'hi i am a random person with access to untold riches that needs your help in accessing them' letters.

They are usually (stereotypically) from some random small African country exiled leader or something.

This one was from an Iraqi with a terminal illness that wanted to share his wealth but needed my help (!!) to get in touch with the banks that wouldnt deal with him due to the US anti-terrorism laws having frozen his accounts, yada yada yada


Anyhow, I am really tempted to reply to this and see what transpires, obviously up to the point where concrete 'issues' (CC numebrs, acct numbers, phone numbers, etc) actually start being asked for....

Obviously this would be strictly in the name of research and boredom, but sitll mighty curious here.

Anyone ever do this?

I am sure its been done by someone somewhere, and although it may seem stupid to string it along, I can imagine the fun it could also provide to bored people at office jobs, like myself.

Thoughts?

 

There's actually a bunch of people on the net that string these people long and then tell their war stories to each other in a forum...they liken it to sport, baiting the baiters.

Someone got an adress??? I visited one but I can't remember what they are called, there's a special name for this "sport", I can't recall right now.

 

Our local news station just did a report on these dirty bastards using the war to try and scam people.
