What a piece of junk.

My daughters damn car has biten me for the last time.

She called up telling me it wont start. Next day I go up and jump it with the Toyota, No go. Pull the alternator and take it to Canadian Tire. Junk they said. Took it back to the rebuilder and they tested it and it was perfect. Gee , go figure?

Had the battery load tested and Hydro`d. All was well.

Turns out the damn AC compressor is frozen solid. Did not know this fact until I did get the damn car started and noticed smoke from under the open hood.

Thought the damn thing was on fire. Jumped out of the car, nutted myself on the door trying to get the jumper cables off.

This is when I noticed the smoked and still burning belt. Like a dumass I gripped it while hot and burning.

Ouch number 1. Ouch number 2 came while poking and feeling around as to what cause it. I now have 4 serp belt pulley grooves on 3 of my fingers. Nice permanent tattoo I guess?

Too repair the damn thing I had to pull Rad, Fan, Shroud, Tranny lines off rad, hoses off rad, More lines of bottom of rad. Thanks jesus I cut the AC lines a year ago since they never worked anyways.

Then pull 4 long bolts out of the compressor that have never been removed in their lifetime. Ouch number 3 skinned knuckles.

Now to put the damn thing back together once i stop bleeding. Stress and hig blood pressure do that to you.

Everyone's AC dies eventually. Just remove it. Don't blame the car, nor Ford. Just yourself.

My Tempo served me well for five years (93-98).
It was faithful transportation but was rotted to hell when I finally sold it in 1998. I beat the crap out of that car and it took it in stride.
I even made it down to Florida with that car twice without a hitch.

Well for $277 cant complain when its already got 426,000km on it.

We have replaced water pump, idler wheel, alternator and a battery, heater core. Water pump, idler and alt would all have been good if the car wasnt stolen and beat to heck awhile back.

It has served her well as her first car. I am just the mekanik on it.

AC compressor is now out, but the drive belt is a bugger. We have returned the belt 3 times trying to get the right size. Now my preybar slipped in the midst of belt installation and I fractured my right hand at an old break.

Still need a belt, put back the rad, fan, both hoses, tranny lines, and a few other little things and we are done. Gonna take a little longer doing it one handed is all.
