i'm actually in debate if it's worthwhile to go from the amd 64 3200+ to the x2 4200.
I dunno if i'll notice much of a difference or not....granted it is a sweet sweet deal.
Wondering if i should just wait till the next cpu's com eout and i gotta switch my board and memory just to rock them.
Did you already buy in hofulstrof?

not yet. still saving up a few $$. any wating to see exacly how the conroe plays out. just realize these prices are here to stay,
if you go with an amd2 processor now and amd2 mobo, the amd2 mobo's will be compatible with amd3 processors when they get released

Going from a 3200 to a 4200 dual core, well if you use your computer for anything other then web browsing and email, then you will notice a differance. It won't be night and day but it will be faster. You will be able to run more programs at a time. I usually wait until cpu's are 1.5 times faster before I upgrade. I went from a 100 mhz to 333 to a 500 to a 1.7 Ghz to a 2.5 Ghz to a 2.4 AMD and my next upgrade will probably be atleast a 3.0 AMD unless those Core Duo's keep up with AMD.
Also, AMD have dropped their prices to keep up with Intel who also slashed most of their prices atleast 20%
