Question

Hey there boys n girls...Just put new tires and a lift on my jeep, and now i've decided that i like the looks of a wheel that comes on another jeep (i dunno which but the one with 5 holes).

Anyways, if i get these wheels and put them on, they'll probably have to be balanced again and what not, but does this all require an alignment, don't really wanna pay another $100 for one of em.

shouldn't, unless something knocks you out of alignment from now untill the wheels are installed.

You would need an alignment IF the wheels backspacing has changed.

If your original wheels were say 15x6 with 4" backspacing and you went to a 15x8 with 2, 3 or 4" of backspace, you would be wise to align the front end.

If the wheels both (old and new) are same size and offset no alignment should be needed.

crap. I think the backspacing may be different. Apparenlty there's a few different versions of these wheels.

But....backspacing on mine is 5.25" or 5.5" a smaller amount of backspacing would mean the wheels are gonna be more into the body of the vehicle, correct?

(some of my terminology may be out, i'm try'n to read up on this but it's confusing - i think the above is the general idea though, right?)

If thats the case i'd be ok with the wheels staying the same or moving a half inch" out, but don't need them coming any closer. Hmm!!!
