So since the Leaf's haven't won since '67 and each year they throw a lucrative contract to a few players on their team does that mean they've screwed it up each of the past years.

Not to start a war here...but...

The way I see it, you have two very profitable hockey teams with excellent fan support.

Detroit appreciate the support from the fans and repays them by putting money back into the team each year to constantly improve it and give the fans what they want.

The Leaf's on the other hand, up until this year, have basically taken the profits and pocketed them. Giving very little back into the team except for a few big contracts but nothing that they truly need to be contenders. They do this because they know the place will consistently sell out and the fans will continue to be there.

Just my opinion.
