Soo it seems the Nhl/Nhlpa came to an agreement.... that's crazy over 600 page contract so it seems... I know some people are like who cares etc etc...I know for a fact I could say I won't watch it... but I would...nothing else on or heck just because it's been a year since I would tune in... Granted the OHL took it's place nicely...Just certain for some reason I prefer the NHL.. What do you guys think about the new rules/regulations? Goalie equipment stuff like that?

I really don't think the NHL is going to be anything like it once was. They're also talking about eliminating overtime, and replacing it with a shootout. I'm not much of a fan of that idea.

I think for regular games shootout is fine, but not for playoffs unless it reaches say a 3rd ot or something.... on Tsn they have an approx roster for the leafs and what there wage is/was and what it will be for the 2005-2006 season:...

Mats Sundin $9 million $6.8 million
Owen Nolan $6.5 million $4.9 million
Ed Belfour $6 million $4.6 million
Bryan McCabe $4.6 million $3.5 million
Tomas Kaberle $3 million $2.3 million
Ken Klee $2.5 million $1.9 million
Darcy Tucker $2.1 million $1.6 million
Matt Stajan $1.1 million $806,000
Michael Tellqvist $550,000 $418,000

Teams total salary $26,800,000

Overtime certainly usually gives the game to the team that worked harder by getting that extra goal. However, a shootout would make it a much shorter process which is probably why they'd consider it.
