Not being a really computer savvy person, are there any helpful things to note when downloading a movie to get the best copy.

Many of the ones downloaded are either not supported by my player (and I have a few), are not complete, or they are just a clip (even though the file size is large).

I use WinMX if it matters.

get codec if you can't see it. I use K++ codec. Works very good.

Cam versions are usually a camcorder and are the crappiest and dvdrips are DVD quality and the best but usually 700 MB!

bit torrent is good if you are lucky to geta good speed. I have never got over 100 kb/sec with it and when I use mirc to download I usually get 350 kb/sec.

I believe I have Codec. Sometimes I get a "error downloading codec" message when using Windows viewer and I when this happens I get picture but no sound.
Best place to download bit torrent or MIRC?

u might already have it but if u dont then download Divx Player, u can get it for free at www.downloads.com

u can use either bit torrent or MIRC, i use both. Bit torrent is much easier to use but is normally slower. mirc is faster but can be somewhat complicated and sometimes u have long ques. Also with mirc sometimes the bots dissconnect while u dowload from them so that kinda screws u. Bit torrent is a guaranteed complete download, although its probably slower than mirc.

if it's downloading codec, then you don't have it! Most dvd rips are divx or xvid or something

</font>
Goodluck trying to figure out mIRC if you dont already know how to use it lol Ask Zach what its like www.mirc.com I use it all the time and I usually watch for the size in moviez, usually the bigger the size the more quality. If your looking for movies that are already on dvd then look for dvd rips and 'screeners'. If your looking for movies in theatres still dont expect premo quality as most of its camcorder stuff though I've gotten lucky with a few. Right now I'm in the process of watching The Village. The Day After Tomorrow and The Notebook came in pretty good quality too. I use Divx most times but I usually view the movies in winamp. I just have pretty much all the codecs out there installed in my pc so that I haven't had any problems with viewing them. Most errors you get will say which codec your missing or hint at which one, do a google search for ____ codec and your golden I did that and pretty much how I've got them all. Word of advice though with mirc, you gotta know the right channels to go into and the right servers to connect toand they're hard to find. Bit torent like others said, your lucky if you get above 100kb/sec I get around 250-300 kb/sec on mirc.

As for the long queues yuli, just keep going from room to room or server to server till you find an automatic one. I do that and I had village in an hour 1/2 today lol
