ok so I noticed on the side of a 12v drill that it has max 600rpm and the same on the side of a 14.4v drill. What is the difference between the two? Is it that noticeable?

Thanks

is the torque that much of a difference is it worth to get the 14.4v?

I've had a cheap jobmate 14.4 from canadain tire for about a year... it works pretty good...

punches through 1/8" thick steel without breaking a sweat anyway...

Im guessing it probably won't last 10 or 15 years like a quality drill would, though...

I have an 18 volt Ridgid drill, works great, tons of torque (510 inch-pounbds) and the charger charges both batteries at once... (big plus for me personally) I've used it to put a 4" holesaw through the backplate of a panel. It'll drill all day through 1/4" aluminum on one battery, 1/16, 5/32 and 11/32 holes, plus counterboring all of them.
