I have a pair of hella 550 driving lights. They come with 55w halogens, is it possible to put in 100w halogens without damaging the housing or lens from heat?

Thanks

Tlake

yeah, its an H3

The innerhousing that holds the bulb, is all glass, excpet for the reflector (not sure what its made of) and the housing that holds the glass inner housing is plastic (abs i think)

they will handle a 100 watt bulb, but keep moving when you have them on, if you leave them on while you park for a minute or two, they will heat up and burn out. sitting in traffic shouldn't be a problem cause 100 watts is slightly illegal on the street I had 100 watters in a pair of cheap 4x6" driving lights on my old truck, and i could drive all nite with no problems.
