Electronics Eng. technologist.... gradualted 3 years ago from Seneca... got to choise from 3 jobs at the same time... and had work within 1 week of graduation... If I were you I would stick with the course... technologist will get you out of school a eyar faster I think.. but many of my friends made that choice and had very diff time finding work after.. and some even came back to finish as technologist...

Unless it is different than most other technical fields, a 'technologist' will usually design something while a 'technician' will build or fix it.
Technicians can often start out higher than technologists but usually top out at a lower rate too (generally speaking, in traditinal positions)
Your call but I would stick to Technology.

Technologist builds on the Technican basis. I went to RCC in Toronto to get my Technician, then to Mohawk College for my Technologist and Co-op. I could have just done the whole thing in a year and half, but I hated driving to Toronto everyday.
Go for the Technologist...

I was thinking of going back to get my Mechanical Technology as well.. There do seem to be more jobs in that industry.
If you are going to take Electronics Technology, specify in either Industrial control (PLC programming) or computer programming...

thanks for the replies everyone.
I was just concerned since I was talking to a couple of other people and they were talking about how hard it was finding a job when they finished, and these guys were smart and finished top of their class.
Maybe it was just the time of year but I hope its all worth it when Im done.
But I was thinking of switiching to Technician, get out earlier then take a couple other 1 year courses in other fields to sort of broaden my horizon, does that sound like a good idea or stupid?
