I figured it was a model airplane but is the mower up there for real or? (sorry i just woke up)

It's not a real mower with a steel deck etc. That would be impossibly heavy for that design. My guess it is a plastic or fiber-glass body designed to look like a mower.

I would be great to use that for a "Just for Laughs" skit. Have a guy pushing it along, start running and then take-off!
