Freshly Home from Mexico
Well, I just got home from Mexico at 5am this morning, and I must say, coming home to the snow sucks. Thats the first time I've ever gone on an all inclusive trip, and it was awsome. My family and I stayed at the RIU Cancun, and it was simply amazing. The weather was great, hot and sunny everyday, and the Corona there is more abundant than water. We also went to a couple of the Mayan ruins which were pretty cool. Overall I had a great time there, and wish I was still there in the sun!!!
Oh ya, I managed to smuggle 6.5 litres of alcohol home too. 4.5 litres of Jose Cuervo Tequila that was free from the hotel, and 2 litres of Wisers Rye from the duty free shop which was $18 a litre.
Has anybody else ever been to Cancun before?

I've been to cancun but that was when I was like 10 years old lol But it was still a blast from what I remember of it except how the trip got shortly ended ... Since then I went to Colombia when I was 15-16 years old and it was more fun. And next year I plan on goin somewhere, just not sure yet. We dropped my rents off yesterday for their vacation to Dominican.
Nice job on the smugglin man got any pictures from the trip? Any other souvenirs?

never been to cancun........ but i was on the other side of mexico though @ maxatlan about 3 years ago. for spring break. (USA spring breakl BTW
) and that was unreal. just me and a buddy.. ya you can say we had a little bit of fun.. Mexico is a totally diff place. you have to experience it. especially on spring break. here's just 1 example...
during one of the nights we were walking along the main road, which is right behind the hotels along the beach, and heading down town toward the bars. from our hotel the bar we wanted to go to was about 2 miles down. so we took the hike.. Now there was soooo much traffic and partying on the side of the roads that as we walked down the strip, the cars drove as fast as we could walk. There was an ambulance WITH siren's on for an emergency and it was literally driving as fastas we could walk. It was rediculous.... no rules, ppl aprked on the side of the road(both sides) partied on the sidewalks, and in the median, all blasting music drinking, smoking, and just dancing away! wow........... i totlaly miss that trip now... LOL
The bars... i can't explain it..
I actualy just got back from florida this year about 2 weeks ago, and that was even more rediculous... only because it was a party time, but there were about 100 PPL from the universities here in wpg that went

Ill try to get a few pictures up sometime, I've got a few with an underwater camera when my dad and I went snorkling on a coral reef, which was awsome. I didn't really get a whole lot of souvenirs, but I did get this cool little box called a puzzle box. You can't open it unless you know how. Bartering with the vendors at the flea markets was quite an experience too. It seems like there is no time in Mexico, the streets always seem to have tons of people no matter what time it is, tons of buses to go on that run 24 hours a day, and only cost like 60 cents US to go anywhere.
Livin Loud that would be awesome to go to a place like that with 100 people from the universities in your town.

that's crazy....what a coincidence.
my manager at work just got back from a week in cancun this friday!
who knows, you might have seen each other there! only, she came back with a REALLY bad case of the "mexican flu" and has been sick all weekend.
anyway, did you happen to see any VW's when you were down there? did you get any pics of the cars...can you post them?

Mexico is probably the best place to go if you're a VW lover. Specifically the old beetles. There are TONS of them there. I've never seen so many old bugs in my life, its crazy how many there are. There are also some Jetta's and other models of VW's. None of them were really customized that much really, but there were still tons. Unfortunately I didnt take any pics of them though.
Most of the cars there are very small, and they had a lot of these little mini truck type cars. I'll try to find a link to what they look like.
As for the tequila, I think Jose Cuervo is pretty good stuff. They sell it here in Canada at the LCBO's and its not really that cheap either i dont think. So hopefully I'll be alright.
