It was definitely a nifty trick by google. Making it seem like gmail was exclusive and limited and an invite only thing so that everyone would scramble to get an account. Now there's probably more gmail invitations than there are people on the planet.

 

I wish I could just toss anyone a set of those babies..... ok so I've got like 40 left now..... anyone else.....
