Hey Folks

Submitted my passport about a month and a half ago - supposed to be going to mexico for my bro's weding in just under a months time from now, and still have no passport. Is there a phone number that anyone's aware of a person can call to get an update on things?

After doing my passport online, i submitted it via courier, as the website says it would only take 20 working business days (about 15 days ago it shoulda been back).

Can anyone suggest what options i do have here for getting an update, i've struggled to find anything on the passport site.

because of the USA you need a passport to get in now the line ups to get one are longer then thay had bin and are back logged

 

there's a good chance you were drunk when you wrote that, as it looks like it should actually be broken down into a couple sentences at least, if not some major punctuation. Heh.

That aside. I realize standing in line for 7 hours is a good idea to get a passport, but doesn't completely answer my question. Standing in line and missing a day of work wasn't completely feasable back then (nor is it now really), not to mention i sent my birth certificate and all documentation in (and don't have other original copies of them).

So...back to square one, is there any way to get an update on things.

 

Just went through this. It took 2.5 months to get the passports. Yes you can call and ask them... but i dont have the # handy. iTs on their website. Good luck it took my girlfriend 4 days to get a human at the 800 line.

i have gone to mexico with a driver's licence and no passport and if thay ask for one wich i do not see them doing ,give the nice man some $ and thay will let you in

 

You will need a passport to fly to any dest in the USA> However you might be able to fly direct to Mexico, but I wouldnt go without my passport.

BTW they have a lovely recording telling you there are to many people on hold and to try later lol...

 

Yeha you need a passport to get into the US flying. We stop somewhere in the US.

Turns out, there's a phone number right on the "Contact Us" link of the passport canada homepage. Somehow i went everywhere but there.

In the phone system is an option to get a passport update. Unfortunately they've reached their maximum number of callers able to be on hold. Looks like i might have to phone at 4am Monday. They don't specific days of being open, but i assume not weekends.

 

on the passport site their is a link to track your order, one other thing, did u mail it or goin in person?

 

i dindn't have time to wait...so i sent mine in via couierier.

In January there was a 2 1/2 month back up due to the large amount of passports needed. Not sure what its like now but I better get mine redone as well.
