Give me some feedback on this song please.

A buddy of mine on my rap forum produced a track for a 2Pac song. The music was taken out of the original song and his vocals were added to a beat that he produced.
The original version of this song is with 2Pac and Spice 1. Some of you may have heard the terrible remix that Eminem produced for the Tupac: Resurrection movie. Where he redid the beat and added himself into the song. It was plain laughable if you ask me.
My buddy would like some feedback on what people think of the beat he did for this. I know most of you are not big rap fans or don't listen to it very much. But, this was a great song and his beat really added to the emotion of it. It puts Eminem's crappy version to shame. Anyway give it a listen and let me know what you think so I can bring comments back to him. Thank you all! And even without getting feedback the song turned out awesome. So I wanted to share.

You're right, I think it turned out very well also. The maraca type sound in the original better suits the song then the dance-type "ts-ts-ts" sound in your friends though.
I usually only like the older Notorious and 2Pac stuff and some of todays underground stuff.
One of my favourite songs is Notorious BIG-Notorious Thugs. I listen to http://www.projectbounce.com/ when it's on late at night when I'm able.
Considering my collection isn't that big yet if you know some other songs out there I might like please let me know.

Eminem made the song seem upbeat. The original version with Spice 1 that was recorded in '96 was very mellow. Meant to be a sad serious song. Not the upbeat club crap that Eminem turned it into. Anyway yeah I thought the beat was dope either way. And was mixed together nicely.
