So I decided that come March/April I'm going to pick up some rims for my new Explorer. I've found quite a few that I would love to get. My only question is should I get 20's Or 22's? I like the look of a lot of rim on a little rubber. However I don't want it to be so little rubber that it looks goofy.

I guess a set of 20's or 22's could look awesome depending on the size tire you get and style of it etc... I've never bought a pair of aftermarket rims though so I am kind of in the dark on the subject.

I do however want them to be chrome. I've never had chrome rims and I am quite a fan of the look! I'm willing to spend around $2000.00 U.S.

I went to Tirerack.com and checked out '02 Explorers, I forget which year yours is.

They only had five 20" rims for it, none larger.

*edit* Couldn't save them images from Tirerack, it just shows the stock ones when saving. Smart guys...*edit*

Sorry, couldn't save and post that second pic ...check out Tirerack.

20's are probably as big as I would go I think. Mine is a 2002.

EDIT: I see that they only have 5 as you mentioned. But, that doesn't necessarily mean I couldn't go bigger does it? If you check out Sounddomain there are tons of people running 22's on their Explorer's.

^^^ Dude, I would love to get some spinners. But, seriously those are so expensive. I mean if you want a good pair. They're cheap stuff is like a grand just to add the spinners over the rims you have.

I'd only suggest buying spinners if you live somewhere with a warm climate all year around. No annoyance in switching tires over the seasons.

Even if I just got regular chrome rims I'm still going to change them come winter. Don't really want to be driving around with Chrome 20's on low profile tires through the snow.

Well, wouldn't you think for 2000.00 I could find some 20's that aren't crap?

saw this guy in a explorer today with 22" rims and some sweet spinners, I was beside him at a red light. Spinners can look so cool when the vehicle isnt even moving.
