Not to bad then, I thought they were gonna actually destroy the ones ppl already have as pets.

Of course this may not stop some jerk tryin to say someone's pitbull attacked them just so they could have it put down even if its the nicest dog alive.

And I can also see people illegally breeding and selling these.

I'm sure that the law will get struck down in no short order. This is the same as saying that you are fat and you are no longer allowed to eat fast food. Bad decision based on poor facts.

Yeah however ppl still eat fast food, if they wanted to strike down on that they'd ban it all together because there's either no such thing as healthy fast food in a fast food place and/or the healthy or so called healthy food is alwayz the most expensive. It's almost like ppl can't afford to be healthy.

Someone told me at one point that they banned super size fries because someone sued them for making them fat I still see super size fries....

I say it comes down to "Punish the deed, not the breed".

Once and only once has my pitbull X lab ever attacked. And it was justified by all who witnessed it. I still say if it wasnt for him I would have been severly beaten or worse and he came to my rescue.

Some of you may remember the story from quite awhile back. Well I still have my dog and the judge granted him a "full pardon" as he was protecting me.

When I bought him, from the SPCA as a pup, Vernon was making a new dangerous dog bylaw where you needed a minimum amount of ownership insurence for your dog.

They actually marked my dog down as a Boxer X lab, so I didnt need the insurence.

Recently Kelowna had a get together on the steps of City Hall. Around 40 dogs and many more owners showed up and not a single problem. Kind of funny how no one heard of the pomeranian that bit a little kid earlier that day, same area.

Since we have had Phoenix, we have had no trouble with breake ins or such crap at all. My truck hasnt been broken intolately at home.

Still its punish the deed, not the breed and get them spayed or neutered.

Will keep digging but the AKC don't list a 'pit bull'.

DON'T BAN BREEDS BAN BAD OWNERS

My 'pitt bull' sheperd mixed dog is the sweetest, most loving, friendly, loyal dog. But don't mess with me or my family 'cause he won't stand for that. Isn't that why we have our 4 legged friends? As for 'dangerous' breeds, I been bit by more yaparians , a$$hole lappsos, and toy whatevers than ANY full sized dog. Know the breed limits BEFORE you buy. Remember the big deal on Jack Russel Terriers when 'Fraiser' came on air? Lots rushed out and bought 'em cause their 'so cute'. That breed has tons of energy and need lots of running, attention, and thinking games to keep them busy. When the uninformed came home and the house was trashed cause the dog was left alone for 8-10 hrs, the shelters were overrun w/ cast off Jacks!
Oh yah. Be a friend and spay or neuter.

problem with pitbulls are the typical people that own them
they are usually young punk drug dealers used to protect them and there drugs and money
these people will always find a way around it

second is that the way pitbulls attack
most dog inflict a single bite and if you leave its teritory it will leave you alone

pitbulls leave people and other animals seriously injured
that is the reason that they are trying to ban them
when they bite its not a simple puncture wound its usally hundred of stitches
people are seroiusly scared for life

and the saying
Punish the deed, not the breed
is lame people who get these dog do because of the macho stature of them
people who own them full well know what there capable of doing

put any dog in the wrong place at the wrong time they will attack
i just poor pitty the animals or people that have to deal with it for the rest of there life

I retract my statement, because I don't want to waste my breath.
