So winter is approaching.

I need new tires.

Question is should I but cheaper winter and then cheaper summer tires or...

Should I buy expensive all seasons?

The whole winter rim issue is not a concern for me. My only concern is traction.

My ford escort handled great the first winter I had it with decent tires on it but last winter I got stuck a few times with my balding tires.

From my experiance in Winnipeg, very good All Season tires are about equal to cheap winter tires. But good winter tires are head and shoulders above all seasons and cheap winter tires. The differance is amazing.

The tires cost 100-150 each, but are well worth the money imo.

 

my vote is get some winter tires and some summer. I have all season and im not happy with em come winter. winter tires are designed for winter not to be used in the summer so you get that extra help. IMO
