the battery on the mainboard is there to maintain your bios settings, should have no effect on startup

if the voltage reads 1v change it as it is dead

diagnosing a pc over the internet can be next to impossible especially without any info. Can you give more details.... like does it turn on at all, does it reach post screen, are there any failure screens, does it boot up and then reboot, what OS etc. ....... MORE INFO PLEASE :-P

i think there's something needs to be reconfigure, because the battery died and lost some of the settings.

i remember my computer tech did something to it before it works normal again.

can you define "runs like crap" for us?

It's probably worthwhile to boot into the BIOS, reset all defaults in there. Then boot into safemode and see how things run there (not you'll have no internet).

Give us an update form there.

from my experience with what you told us, sounds to me like a harddrive issue.
