The "Home Audio Sucks" thread.

i was in best buy the other day and was strolling through the home theatre section. i noticed that they carry these power conditioners made by monster. they are upwards of $1000 bucks. When i look at it logically there is nothing in best buy`s arsenal of mass market crap that evens warrants spending that amount of money. Is it just me, or is Home Audio falling into the toilet?

sorry for the rant, had to get this off my chest.

Sadly, one can waste much more money than that on a 'power conditioner'

this is the truth. i might understand the justification when running an audiophile type system with brands like krell or McIntosh.

a friend of mine that passed away last year was into high end audiophile. this was the kinda guy that spent 3 grand on a pair of interconnects. he ran a power conditioner with his system and claimed a noticable audible difference. i`m still not convinced.

I must say I tried these out and they are amaizing! the difference in my systems SQ was like night and day! Now I use them on my TV, DVD player, computer CPU, and in my car. Absolutly increadible and highly recommended for anyone who is serious about audio/video performance !

The SHAKTI Electromagnetic Stabilizer (aka "the Stone") has three internal trap circuits (Microwave, RF and Electric Field) to absorb the broadest spectrum of EMI. Placement on automotive CPUs has measurably increased engine horsepower. It also improves resolution for virtually all-major components in high definition audio/video systems. Music reproduction is clearer, with more liquidity, dynamics and focus. The improved inter-transient silence allows the listener to hear ambient cue information essential for accurate perception of stage depth, width and unwavering imaging. High quality video systems will benefit from SHAKTI devices near power supplies, projection guns and laser disc/DVD players. Reduced color noise and improved convergence alignment are some of the improvements that can occur. In automotive applications, where space allows, the unit should be securely taped and/or cable tied to the top of the CPU.

What, you think monsters marketing crap is limited to home? Yeah right..

Only difference is home audio has a greater market share, so theres more idiots (with alot more money might i add) by % in home audio then car, even if you include the spl knuckle-draggers.. HAHAHAHAHA!

Oh yeah - the Shakti stone! Right up there with wood pucks, blue dots, and green markers.

Remember - if you can't hear the difference, your gear must be inferior!
