lol they did a whole show to conclude that the sound follows in the path of least resistance? u cant be seriouse......sound's natural property to reflect would cause it to flow in the path of least resistance......that's the whole concept behind sound deadening materials. i thought everyone knew this.

I would have been much more interested to see them try to do it with actual equipment, opposed to the way they did it, just to see how people outside of the circle would go about setting it up, and the results they would get... I didn't find thier setup, or trials that interesting...

I think it's a great idea... but I just don't see it happening.

A year or two ago I tried to set up an XS-Cargo competition. Just to see who could build the loudest system using like, $50 or $100 worth of parts from XS... when the idea was thrown out there a buch of people were interested. But when it came down to actually getting it DONE noone did anything.

What you're proposing would take even more time and money, so I just can't see it happening.

(sorry, don't want to **** on your parade, just stating facts)

well, i think that was the basic understanding because at the beginning of the show the interviewed team jbl and went over their spl van that had multitudes of sound deadening including re-inforced windows and concrete insulation that brought the weight of the vehicle to 10,000lbs.
if fact the passenger side of the van was especially set up to be so loud that it would shred paper and cause human harm, and they were scared to have someone sit there. anyway, during the build they did spray some foam (looked like that expanding foam) to deaden existing open areas, but i guess they didn`t figure the sunroof would let go first before the windows.

but i did enjoy watching this episode for its silly factor........

Is it not painfully obvious? People have not responded because they believe the idea a complete waste of time and money.
