I've recieved no such e-mail. Would be interesting to see if they do it to compete with yahoo and other such companies.

What I don't understand is why all these companies are increasing the mailbox limit to such an enormous size?

I mean yeah it's great to be able to send mp3's, short video's etc... But... If I want to send something large to someone (Usually a file over 3MB) I do it over a chat client. Do I really need 250MB to store 2-10kb email messages?

It's real. Hotmail is going to 250 MB, so what?

Not a big deal, they are just trying to keep up with yahoo and gmail

Microsoft is in alliance with a few big companies, Comcast, Yahoo, Earthlink etc in try'n to build a better spam filter system. Apparenlty microsoft has already implemented what they've created so far into hotmail, which seems to be working well as i get very few actual spam emails into my email in box and maybe 2 or 3 into my spam folder a day - which doesn't worry me. As mentinoed above along with this new system, they're going to be implementing an incoming and outgoing email virus scan which is pretty neat.

They figure they can block 95% of all spam! Hotmail really will rock that much more if we get larger email accts! Even most ISP's only offer 10mb accts and i've found hotmail to have the best spam filtering system!

I realize most of this may not pertain to the topic at hand, but it's somewhat related and seemed like the right place to post it all

Isn't hotmail the main one that charges for extra storage? And now they're going free because everyone else is still free with more storage space?
