Future Shop Link
Comes with a 17" moniter for free. I don't use computers for games so It should be good for me. Is that a pretty good deal? Plus you guys said the financing is pretty good? Now does it basically work?
Thanks guys, I'm just not a computer nerd anymore.

Meh, every time I use one of Futureshop's computers (usually to price check other stores), I'm always flabbergasted at how slow they are ...

Integrated graphics suck ... a lot ... seriously ... They slow the computer down ... a lot ... seriously ...

I'd also go with AMD because they're a better value ...

Integrated graphics are never fine ... It seriously lags the computer so badly even when not playing games/movies/music, etc.

Even the cheapest, ****tiest graphics card is better than integrated graphics ...

This is an option ... Rather large mark-up, but better IMO ...

That FS computer is the same one I have (I use a different monitor though).
I just use it for general web surfing and downloading/burning music and movies.

I'm not a computer guy either but the price was good and it's worked pretty good for me so far (6 months).

It was cheaper and came with more options compared to going to MDG or BestByte which I also priced.

A P4 800mhz for $999.99... did I read it right? (cuz it also says 3.0ghz but system bus is at 800mhz) Thats not worth it to me you can get a P4 for like $500 these days. I know someone who bought a AMD 2400 for $800 from future shop, mind you theys till got ripped off as it only came with 96mbs of ram lol

If you EVER plan on playin games, might want to look into one that has at least a 64mb non integrated card. And if you listen to music much a non integrated sound card.

Just my 2 Cents.

Integrated sound is alright (depending on your speakers/motherboard), but integrated graphics suck ... Every single computer of one of my friends/friends' parents that has integrated graphics lags so badly even with WMP or WinAmp ... A couple of years ago, my brother had a P4 2.0 GHz w/ 256 MB of RDRAM w/ integrated graphics ... I hated that thing so much ... Couldn't play ANY games (not even Frogger3D), lagged on WMP/WinAmp, lagged while playing movies, and even flash webpages gave it trouble ...

Oh yeah, and 800 MHz is the system bus speed, not the CPU clock speed ...

not to mention integrated graphics dont even support direct3d half the time.

package computers are junk, hear this from someone who worked tech support on em for a year.

and there really is no argument that package computers use low quality components, its a fact that isnt going to change as long these companies feel they want a profit, how else can you explain that HP released the 533w as a package computer WITH a printer, for $499USD?

just my .02

I agree with yermolovd, and besides that, ASUS, ABIT and probably some other companies make motherboards with Geforce 4 integrated graphics. And the boards are only around $110. Hardly a slow graphics chip. Some hardcore nerds might try to convince you it's crap, but not everyone wants to play the latest first person shooters at 300 frames per second.
