Why is it that my stuff will sit with customs for a few weeks when I get parts shipments from all over the US with no trouble. Using Fedex or UPS shipped from any depot lik Dallas, TX or Idianapolis, IN to me in 2 days. The shipper handles all brokerage, etc but I get it without delay.
Why is this?

I live near the US boarder between Sombra & Marine City... My old boss (works on old Mercadies cars) told me he gets stuff delivered to the ferry station on the US side... they charge $2 a parcel, he picks it up on the canadian side, and brings it through customs himself...

Huge money saver... UPS charges like $40 or $50 just for the paperwork!

I would be think that you will be taxed on that amount (gst) and will pay a brokerage fee based on this as well. So how much did you pay for these speakers anyways?

vat tax on $1600US is going to be like $240 Canadian.. (you will get a bill 2weeks after you get the thing+ brokerage for purolator to front the cash to customs)

Id sort this out before they drop it off!
Seems to me the whole reason it's gone to purolator in the first place is because you are being charged vat taxes!

You normally get a letter in the mail saying to pick up at a canada post or whatever when USPS ships... most Ive ever had to pay there is $5..
