Hey everybody.

I know there's so many people we all know of who are in tough situations. I'm passing this on because it's no joke and definitely not a scam; this kid is a former student of mine, and I've found out that she's in trouble. Courtney Render is now 22 (I taught her when she was in high school), and has developed Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and needs an Allogeneic stem-cell procedure that is set to cost at least $600,000, which the family does not have.

where it details her struggles, and includes video footage of her. I've taught a couple thousand kids over the years, but Courtney is a kid that stands out in my professional memories. She was just a great kid that was involved in her school community, demonstrated empathy and compassion for others, and always happy and smiling. She was also a dedicated student, full of talent and potential in various subjects, and I always truly knew that she would be successful because she worked hard at improving her skills just for the personal rewards of being a better person. She also made a large impact on those around her, as I would see her personality uplift others around her each day in class and in the halls. She never had an attitude, or treated anyone badly. She was always positive and welcoming to everyone she met.

She's unfortunately had to drop her academic aspirations, and leave post-secondary studies due to the escalation of the disease. I can tell you that this has to be a huge loss for this kid who embraced every challenge thrown at her as opportunities to be a better person. Beyond that, all those pursuits of personal development that people explore in their early 20s have been put on hold to deal with her health.

Courtney's got so much to offer the world, and she desperately needs help. If you can give anything through that website, I can tell you that this is a person (and an entire family) who would truly appreciate any help you can offer, and never take such generosity for granted.
