i know nothing about tires, but need some for my jeep
- I've found out stock size is 225/75/15
- The largest i can go without a lift is 30.5"
I have no idea how inch's compares to the other rating...i assume milimeters guess i could try n work it out if i can find some sort of converter.
I'd like to go as large as i can...and semi mean lookin without anything silly like a lift. The tires will be all season, used mainly on road, in city, probably not a whole lotta off roading, but i can hope.
Someone who knows more about tires...help me out with sizes if you can...or suggestions of any sort really. If any of you happen to be in the tire business in edm, well that'd be hot!!!

K .........
metric sizing
225/75-r15
225 is the section width in mm so the tire is 225mm wide
75 is the aspect ratio ie: the sidewall is 75% of the section width tall
-r15 is a 15" rim
so
225mm/25 = 9inches (there's 25mm in an inch)
so your tire is 9" wide
9" * .75 = 6.75"
your sidewalls are 6.75" tall
so tire hieght = sidewall height*2 + rim hieght
so (6.75*2)+15=28.5" tall
so your stock tire is a 28.5x9 r15 in floation sizing
you can get many tires in a 30*9.50 r15 .... wich would be about right for your jeep

I have those baja widetrack MT's on my truck right now for the summer ......... they're a good tuff tire with good offroad tracton
Kal tire sells em, they're made by bridgestone
I run BFG allterrain Ko's in the winter ..... they're a great winter tire but I was somewhat dissapointed with em in the mud

wow...thats a lotta math, kinda feels like im in school again. Thanks for that explanation, i realize that i'm a retard...and that cleared things up pretty well. After another gentlemen pointed out the fact that i need to suck it up and get a Budget Boost...i've done a lil research, and i believe i can buy the materials for about a 2" lift for about $100US (basically just spacers). Now i just gotta figure out the install-cost portion of it, as i don't trust myself to do it (nor do i have the tools/knowledge/area to do it).
Once that's done i can do 31X10.5X15 which from your above calculations will be about 3" taller and 1" wider....should help the looks of the jeep!
To the second post, that is a pretty intense lookin tire!

Boggers are the shiznit.
I run the Baja MT's on my Toyota and got over 100,000 km's from them. Proper balancing, rotating and alignments made them last. Although it was the older tread pattern. I have the new ones now but with the new tread I am unsure how much life I will get. They look meaner and throw the mud a little higher but time will tell how well they wear. (like iron I hope)

it's a 94 ZJ (grand cherokee se)
looks like such (minus the gay pinstriping):

like i said thought, the gay pinstriping is not on there, it came off as soon as i got home....and i've now got some clear corner lens' up front

yeah that's the same as my buddies 96 larado ......... I think he's running 30x9.50-15's Baja widetrack XT's right now ....... they look good on there
31x10.50's would look better
I believe he told me you can move the front springs to the rear for 3" of lift in the back and then buy 3" lift springs and arms for the front .........
2" spacers would be cheaper though and not require the replacement of the factory trailing arms
