Well then I was lied to, if the amp is only 800 watts RMS. I was told it was 1300 RMS bridged when I bought it. So it is honestly 800 RMS, wow. That really pisses me off. I trusted him.

that box is custom basically. It was made to spec for those "Phantom" 12" drivers, (does ANYONE remember those? a Calgary manufacturer built 100 of them, then sold them all off, they were a replica of the Phoenix Gold XMAX 12, but the Phantoms were only 200 RMS. They had a flat dust cap, and no labeling.)
Does anybody remember those at all? That was a few years ago. Well, the guy that made them, is a friend of mine, so I bought one. But my amp sucked (I was a newbie too), so I fried it in time. But that box was the built-to-spec one that the sub came in, when you bought it. Mine was never painted, so the MDF was getting really dirty from all the finger prints, so I painted it with Primer, I should carpet it. It would look way better

He still has a few of those left. They are built AMAZINGLY well, EXTEREMELY Rigid, as you can tell. Brand new, I'll have to see how many he has left, and how much he wants.

yeah Aaron, that Riprock was nutty, that amp was as big as an ironing board, probably heavy as one too. I know Kicker Under-rates their amps, is that the case with the 500SI?

The ZR240 I used to have was so called 300 RMS at 2 ohms, well it did 550 RMS instead (Thats why I love Kicker amps!!!) So I'm hoping this is along those lines. Damn, 1994, wow that 500SI is old. 11 year old amp, kinda cool, I love the Ghetto stuff! Im hoping the 500si is also about as under-rated, whereas it can do 1300, or at least close to it. That amp is as old my my car, and my cars obsolete by dealership standards. I hope this amp never breaks down, it'll be impossible to get parts for

I'd buy em again....if I had less power..LOL....

I beat the hell out of those things and it took the RipRock to kill em...But in all honesty I think it was improper setting up on my part and clipping is what did them in....

But dang was it cool to hear "POP!!tap tap tap tap tap...."as the dust cap bounced around the trunk...LOL

The old kicker amps are usually underrated. I would say if it's rated for 850, probably puts out a bit more than 900.
Anyhow, just curious, but why would you buy an amp when you don't know what is it, and have no clue on the specs?

Any good amp can put out 20-30% more power then its rated for at nominal load.. this is to accomadate power compression.. (or lack there of)..

This dosent seem to be the case with this amp considering maximum current draw is listed at 120 and it has a tighly regulated supply... I think youd be lucky to top 900 even below 4ohms... (unless it can pull more then 120amps)

While I know the ZRs have an oversized PS I think 550wrms from a zr240 is also a pipe dream... I tested my buddies zr600 doing more like 700 into 4ohms and almost 850 into 3ohms..

When we were done testing me and my other buddy cooked hotdogs on it and took pictures for a laugh.... my friend was less then impressed....
