Dude, trust me, I have been where you are.
Buy a 5,000 truck or car, and work on fixing what you have.
If you buy a 60k truck or car, you'll be working to pay it off, and wont have the time to put into fixing what you have. Anyone can buy an expensive car, relatively speaking, but that doesnt make them nicer than something you actually worked to make what it is.
I was about an inch from buying a '01 Dodge Ram a few years back, cuz I figured I could afford the 400/month or so it would cost, because I had a good job, etc etc.
Trust me, life ALWAYS gets in the way. One thing led to another and I was VERY thankful I stuck with my $600 beater for a while.
I would never go 60k into debt for a car, unless it was a company-car type deal.
What if your 65k truck needs new tires, or brakes, or a tune up? So now, one month, you got your 600 payment, PLUS you got your 800 on new rubber....there is always hidden costs, no matter what your warranty/lease/friend from shop/etc can hook you up with.
Keep in mind that that 65k truck is going to be worth MAYBE a third of that, in five years.
Just my 2 cents, I dont know your situation, but when you are young, dont bury yourself in debt.
(unless its OSAP-related, like me, hehe)

Also,
No dealership in their right mind is going to finance an 18 year old for any amount...
AND
You'll be looking at like RIDICULOUS insurance rates, as well..
A friend's little borther got an '03 Ford escape purchased for him for graduating university. Said friend's family is VERY well off. His parents insurance company, which the family had all their business holdings (well over a couple million) with, quoted approximately half the cost of the truck, a year. Roughly 1200 a MONTH...
Yes, this is my Ontario viewpoint, but still....ouch

ya it wont cost that much here.. not in alberta, my friend asked how much a ferrari would cost on insurance, they said the same he was payin, they said no matter wat car you drive the insurance will be the same... i dont think thats true but i got told that... ya im under 18 so i thought that would be a problem, but i dont see why, i do and i dont... if i have the money it will be the same as if someone else was giving it to them, now i can see if kids just kept doing this and not paying, but if you can show them that you can afford i dont see why not. but they more hten likely not let me. but ill see,

get a clue, you would be paying about $15,000 a month on insurance in Alberta on a Ferrari, if they even insured you. Maybe get yourself a little beater for $500 and try and get your car to not be "Soon to be turbod gmc s15, soon to be bagged, and then soon to compete SPL" and turn it into "turbod gmc s15, bagged, to compete SPL"
Also this advice has been given before but I am sure this won't be the last ...
Your friends are dumb, get new ones.
